This piece was one of two that I put into the Brunswick Street Gallery 40x40 group show (unfortunately my photography on the second piece was even more shocking than this one!). It was my first attempt at taking a body part (of a cat) and turning this banal limb into its own being. It was another developmental piece of my mixed media characters at the time and was a bit more of a creepy character - something I do try to avoid in my character creations. I prefer my characters to be more quirky and to use the word 'cute' - as I find them more appealing; I feel greater reach with a viewer rather than the creepy characters.
